A Glimpse of Italy
I was so excited for this trip! There were lots of things that I wanted to see and experience in Italy. We were able to visit Rome, Florence, Milan and Venice on the month of May. The weather was a little bit cold and it rained on most days.
Anyways, let me share with you some photos I took from the trip. (A/n: The photo taken above is in Milan).
We visited Rome first. We were able to go to the Colosseum. When I was a child, I had always wanted to see how the Colosseum looked like. I was fond of Greek and Roman mythology since I was a kid and seeing the Colosseum with my own eyes made me excited. It was an amazing experience and very educational! After the colosseum, we had a city tour.
The next day, we went to visit the Vatican. The structures around me were breathtaking! We were also able to see the Pope and receive the Papal Blessing. Though I wasn't able to understand a word the Pope said, I felt blessed just to be able to experience it. We were also able to go inside the Sistine Chapel. Too bad, I won't be able to show photos of how it looks like in the inside because it is prohibited to take pictures.
The next day, we went to Florence. We went to Piazza della Signoria. In here, you will be able to see many Renaissance art. There are lots of sculptures.
Afterwards, we went to Milan. I loved the architecture of the buildings in Milan. There are lots of luxury brands along the street.
After walking for a long time, we decided to take a break in a cafe. Tip: The water in Europe is expensive. Actually, even the food is expensive :(. When converted to peso it amounts to about Php150-Php200. So if you find a water fountain, get your tumbler and refill it. You will be able to save money :D.
Our next destination was Venice. When we arrived, the weather wasn't so good. It was raining. It was also very crowded. There were many tourists. Eventhough the weather was bad and it was crowded, I was still able to appreciate the beauty of Venice.
Overall, it was a fun and memorable trip. I was able to experience and learn about the culture of Italy.
